Hello everyone, Connor here. It's Day 4 here in Trinidad. After another breakfast of eggs, we were off to Jacob's Hill for another day of VBS. We did the usual music, and skit to start things off and both were success's. We did a little paper mache treasure chest for craft time, which was a big, and messy hit. For sports time, we suprisingly enough laid off on the soccer aka FUTBOL today, and mixed things up with some good 'ole American baseball. [which by the way, does anyone know if Bonds broke the record?] But it was an overall good day.
This afternoon we got to do some liming. Hang with the locals, swim, sleep, and really do whatever. But after a couple hours of laziness, we got to experience the joy of mixing and spreading concrete. . . in the rain. . . for nearly 3 hours. . . and let me tell you, it wasn't easy. We used teamwork though, and got through the "gresume slave labor" as some are calling it. Though a few of us, including myself, came out of it with some cuts and blisters, It was a good experience.
Tonight, some of our own got baptized here on the compound by Pastor Ashook. They were Camrie Nixon, Don Brown, and Natalie Russell. We got the whole thing on tape, so those of you that are freaking out because you missed it [you know who you are] when we get the team video out to the team members, you'll be able to see it. It was a powerful night.
After all of that work, instead of having a debriefing session before bed, my dad decided to cut us some slack and let us play some games. Our team, the interns here on the compound, and even some of the kitchen staff played some Over The Mountain, and George Butt. We had some slips while playing over the mountain [two of which were me] but other than those, which actually made it all the more fun, we had a good time. It was a good end to a good day, but of course we had to walk to the local KFC to make the day even better. After chowing down, we came back here to the compound, and now that everyone is asleep, except for a few restless kids, I could wright this blog. See you soon everyone!
P.S.
Keep Praying for us, specifically that more children will begin to come to VBS, and that we lead some of the children to christ. BYE!
